The coroner has determined that PnB Rock was mu*dered. People.com confirms that the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner decided on Friday that the 30-year-old rapper had been shot in the back and chest, causing his death.
The medical examiner concluded that he had died there. On Monday, Rakim Hasheem Allen, also known as PnB Rock, was shot and killed at Roscoe’s House of Chicken ‘N’ Waffles, where he was having lunch with his girlfriend, Stephanie Sibounheuang.
The “Fleek” rapper was approached by a suspect, who is still at large and has not been identified by police and told to hand over his jewels and other valuables. The man then produced a gun and fired multiple shots toward PnB Rock.
According to The Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Police Chief Michel Moore stated on Tuesday that the suspect likely learned of the rapper’s whereabouts from an Instagram post.
PnB Rock “was with his family — with his girlfriend or some kind of friend of his — and as they’re there, enjoying a simple meal, [he] was brutally attacked by an individual who apparently [came] to the location after a social media posting,” said Los Angeles Police Chief Michel Moore, according to The Times.
Sibounheuang had posted an Instagram Story of their lunch just minutes before the attack. The tweet was ultimately taken down. Since then, Sibounheuang has removed her Instagram account as well. Xuri, the couple’s toddler daughter, was born two years ago. The rapper also had a daughter named Milan, who was eight years old.
PnB Rock discussed the plight of Los Angeles rappers with DJ Akademiks in one of his final interviews, recorded about a week before his untimely death. “It’s so common,” he said, adding, “I never got robbed. Ever in my life.”
He continued, “I ain’t gon’ say never. I don’t like saying ‘never.’ I’m not superstitious, but I haven’t been robbed.”

“I’m not gonna put myself in those situations because I know what happens in those situations,” he said. As DJ Akademiks pointed out, rap artists are often considered “targets,” prompting PnB Rock to reveal that he “move[s] different” because his “oldest brother got assassinated.”
“I’ve seen people die, I’ve been around people that died, but when that s— hits your crib, you know this is real life. Anybody could die. It could be anybody. The last person that you expect could die.” PnB Rock was asked if this made him “nervous,” to which he responded, “Alert.”
