According to a 1997 feature published in Rolling Stone, Rock met Compton-Rock, a Hollywood publicist at the time, when he crashed the 1994 Essence magazine awards. Later in her career, the PR expert discovered her “real calling” while working for UNICEF in charge of the organization’s Special Events and Celebrity Relations Division.
She graduated from Howard University with a degree in arts and production management and from St. John’s University with a master’s in global development and social justice. The couple then welcomed their first child, a daughter named Lola Simon, on June 28, 2002. A few years later, on May 22, 2004, their second daughter Zahra Savannah was born, expanding their family. Compton-Rock adopted Ntombi, another daughter, from South Africa.

Compton-Rock is deeply committed to helping others and promoting social justice. In addition to her time spent with UNICEF, Compton-Rock established the Angelrock Project Foundation in 2008. Their Divorce Was Formalised In 2016
Rock and Compton-Rock’s divorce was mostly about whether or not the Grown Ups star should pay child support for their daughter Ntombi, whom they were reportedly about to adopt before they broke up.
Compton-Rock wrote in her response to the divorce papers that the couple had a third daughter who has resided with the parties since before her first birthday, contradicting Rock’s claim that he only had two daughters.
In addition, she stated that Ntombi has been nurtured by the parties as a member of the family and has been exclusively maintained by the parties.
Rock said that Compton-Rock had the ability to work and contribute to her own support as well as the support and other financial needs of the children. Compton-Rock, on the other hand, said that she did not have the ability to work.
