Ricky Smiley Son Cause Of Death
The son of comedian Rickey Smiley passed away over the weekend without any suspicion of foul play. A friend discovered 32-year-old Brandon Jamaad Smiley unconscious inside his home, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office. A buddy found it in the 2300 block of 31st Ave. North at 10:07 a.m. on Sunday.

After being brought to UAB Hospital, Brandon Smiley was declared dead at 10:52 a.m. According to Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates, an autopsy performed early on Monday revealed no signs of trauma or malice, and the cause of death is still under investigation.

In a moving video, Smiley, 54, explained the “terrible news” as he prepared to board a trip to Birmingham, Alabama, after learning of the passing of his son.

According to the regional publication AL.com, Brandon Smiley was 32. A friend discovered him unconscious inside his home on Sunday at about 10 a.m., according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office. He was brought to UAB Hospital, where less than an hour later he was declared dead.

Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates told AL.com that the cause of death is still under investigation after an early Monday autopsy revealed no signs of trauma or suspicious activity. Apparently, Birmingham police are looking into the matter. When contacted by The Times on Monday, representatives for Smiley declined to make any additional comments.
