Resident Evil Village Gameplay, Plot And Trailer! Latest Updates

Capcom’s Resident Evil Village is a 2021 first-person survival horror game. It follows Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (2017). Players take control of Ethan Winters, who is on the hunt for his stolen daughter in a mutant-infested community. Players scavenge locations for materials and manage resources in Village, which retains survival horror themes from earlier Resident Evil games. It does, however, include more action-oriented gameplay, with increased opponent numbers and a stronger focus on battle.

Resident Evil Village was revealed during the PlayStation 5 reveal event in June 2020 and published on May 7, 2021, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, with a macOS version following in 2022. It garnered generally positive reviews, with acclaim for its gameplay, setting, and diversity, but criticism for its riddles, boss battles, and Windows performance concerns; the increased emphasis on action split opinion. Resident Evil Village received many awards at the Golden Joystick Awards, including Game of the Year. By May 2022, it expects to have sold 6.1 million devices.

Gameplay

Resident Evil Village, like its predecessor Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, is played in first-person. It is set in a wintry explorable Eastern European hamlet that has been characterized as “ripped directly from the Victorian period,” and is significantly bigger and more immersive than its predecessor. The core village’s structures and buildings may be scaled and utilized to battle adversaries. In comparison to Biohazard, the game is more action-oriented, with protagonist Ethan Winters now armed with greater fighting abilities as a result of military training. The game’s main foes, the werewolf-like Lycans, are not only agile and clever, but they can also carry weapons and attack in packs, requiring the player to reconsider their strategy of using limited ammo, engaging in physical combat, or just fleeing. Makingshift fortifications, similar to Resident Evil 4 (2005), may be utilized to ward off assailants. The inventory system is similar to Resident Evil 4, with a briefcase and the option to move and rotate objects for more storage space. The Duke, a merchant, sells supplies, weapons, upgrades, and artifacts to players. The players may also go hunting in the village and have the Duke prepare them for delicacies. Eating side dishes grants the player benefits such as reducing the amount of damage absorbed when blocking. Treasures and artifacts may be located all across town and sold to the Duke for cash.

Players may manually save their game progress by finding and utilizing typewriters, which replace the tape recorders introduced in Resident Evil 7 and are the first time they have appeared in a mainstream game since Resident Evil 4. The pause menu has a map of the settlement as well as a journal with drawings that review the player’s progress in the tale so far.  The game included two new features: picture mode, which allowed players to take screenshots of in-game situations, and a button to bypass cutscenes.

Plot

Chris Redfield transported Ethan and Mia to Europe three years after Resident Evil 7 to start a fresh life with their newborn daughter Rosemary. Chris and his Hound Wolf gang assault the home one night, murder Mia, and kidnap Ethan and Rosemary. Ethan wakes up next to a wrecked cargo truck and finds a neighboring community plagued by werewolf-like monsters known as Lycans. Ethan is unable to help the other residents and is apprehended by the local priest Mother Miranda and her lords Alcina Dumitrescu, Donna Beneviento, Salvatore Moreau, and Karl Heisenberg. With the help of a strange local merchant known as the Duke, Ethan escapes Heisenberg’s death trap and journeys inside Dimitrescu’s castle to locate Rosemary. Dumitrescu and her children are eliminated by Ethan, who discovers a flask holding Rosemary’s skull. The Duke adds that Miranda put Rosemary’s body parts in four separate flasks for a specific ritual and that she may be resurrected provided Ethan obtains the other flasks held by the other lords.

Ethan discovers Hound Wolf is also in the town while murdering Beneviento and Moreau for their flasks. Ethan passes Heisenberg’s test for the fourth flask and is invited to the Lord’s factory, where Heisenberg proposes a team effort to overcome Miranda. After learning that Heisenberg plans to weaponize Rosemary, Ethan refuses and flees. Ethan confronts Chris about Mia’s murder after finding that the “Mia” Chris killed was really Miranda in disguise. Miranda has the ability of imitation, and she was trying to capture Rosemary when she wrecked the cargo truck, according to Chris. Chris destroys Heisenberg’s facility, while Ethan defeats him with an improvised tank. Miranda approaches Ethan and murders him after revealing her intention to adopt Rosemary.
