She wants to stay friends with Bartise because she thinks that if they stopped talking to each other, it would erase the memory of falling in love with him. Again, the voices of reason come from her family when they (and the other women in the cast in a separate scene) advise her to cut ties with the guy who harmed her so deeply.
Bartise’s desire to be friends with Nancy seems strange. It appears from his attitude throughout the episodes that he thought he was coming across as a nice guy. At Alexa’s party, Nancy dumped Bartise as a friend because he was upset that she was seeking advice from other people about him.
When she said that their friendship doesn’t help her, he told her that she was wrong to think that it would. No, not in a sexual sense. When she said that this bond would do her no good, he got angry and said it shouldn’t. Wild take!
