When the news about the Barbie movie first broke in 2018, Noah Baumbach and Greta Gerwig were in the middle of filming White Noise. It wasn’t until they finished that they were able to begin production on the film. Robbie not only plays the major part but also serves as one of the film’s producers.

Trailer Of Barbie
On December 15, 2022, before select showings of Avatar: The Way of Water, the first teaser trailer for Barbie was released to the public after months of anticipation. Warner Bros. followed up the following day by posting the trailer online, which caused a minor internet outage.
At the beginning of the trailer, Richard Strauss’s “Also Sprach Zarathustra” plays as a witty tribute to Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey. A group of girls in tattered clothes play with dolls as Helen Mirren narrates, bemoaning the fact that, up until that one terrible day, females had only ever had access to baby dolls. A huge Margot Robbie, dressed as Barbie in a black-and-white striped bikini, towers over the little girls and winks at them as they watch the clip.
A hysterical outburst ensues, during which the girls shatter their baby dolls; one of the dolls is tossed into the air, where it spins wildly before the scene cuts to the title card. Robbie’s Barbie looks out over Barbieland as the music changes to something more upbeat; we get our first glimpse of Ryan Gosling’s Ken in action; and we get a glimpse of Issa Rae applauding while wearing a ribbon that reads “President.”
A few months after principal photography completed, Hari Nef posted a photo of the cast on social media. This signifies that post-production on the film has begun and that it will be released in theatres later this year. If Barbie is released in July, it will have to compete with Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, another highly anticipated picture with a large ensemble cast.
Plotting Of Barbie
Since so little is known about the plot of this live-action adaptation, it is often the subject of speculation. From what we’ve heard from the actors attached to the movie, we can only assume that this will be a whole new take on the iconic Barbie.
Although the Barbie name may appear restrictive when it comes to plot development, Margot Robbie and her crew obviously welcomed the challenge, as seen by her statement: While promoting his role in the Christmas musical comedy Spirited, Will Ferrell, a member of Barbie’s vast and outstanding cast, dropped some fascinating tidbits about the picture.
Who Plays Ken Role In Barbie?
It was announced on October 22 of last year that Ryan Gosling was in final discussions to play Ken, Barbie’s love interest. The actor had previously turned down the role of the male doll because his calendar was already full, but as a result of the epidemic, he now has time to perform the part.
Gosling’s first photo shoot with his new bleached blonde hair, tanned complexion, and classic denim jacket was released by Warner Bros. in July 2022. The scene caused an immediate uproar online, and anticipation for Gerwig’s film only grew. Gosling expressed his delight and satisfaction at landing the famous part of Ken in The Gray Man on his press tour.

Casting Of Barbie
You already know you want to watch the film since it stars Barbie and Ken, but there are some new cast members who will make you even more excited. Kate McKinnon, Michael Cera, Emma Mackey, America Ferrera, Alexandra Shipp, Ariana Greenblatt, Emerald Fennell, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Sharon Rooney, Anna Cruz Kayne, Ritu Arya, Connor Swindells, Jamie Demetriou, Marisa Abela have all been confirmed to appear. Will Ferrell will play the CEO of a toy company.
Kyle Buchanan, a reporter for The New York Times, said in a series of tweets from the month of May that Robbie and Gosling aren’t the only “Barbie” and “Ken” stand-ins in the movie. The reporter continued by saying that Issa Rae and Hari Nef will portray new versions of Barbie, while Simu Liu and Ncuti Gatwa would play new versions of Ken.
None of the aforementioned actors have acknowledged their participation, although Liu did add in the same interview with the Independent that having his body waxed for Barbie was one of the most excruciating things he had to go through in production.
Song Of Barbie
While it would seem like the obvious response that “yes,” Aqua’s signature song won’t be included in Barbie. Manager Ulrich Mller-Jrgensen confirmed to Variety that the song will not be included on the album.
At the time of the release of the Danish hit, Mattel was worried about the song’s message and filed two lawsuits against the group for using the Mattel brand name for commercial advantage. Although, the California District Court of the United States dismissed both cases. Don’t forget to share this news with your loved ones, and check out Talkxbox.
