TalkGames could not remain more true to it's title for this episode. With all the big releases coming out we didn't do anything but talk about The New Xbox Experience, Red Alert 3, Quantum of Solace, Mortalk Kombat vs. DC Universe, Left4Dead, and revisit other games like Dead Space, Fable 2 and Gears of War 2. The end of the show is a quick 20 minute discussion on what game could possibly be Game of the Year this year, but it sort of snowballs into being about GTA4.

Technical Note: The show was recorded differently this week, so any audio related unpleasentries will not be showing up often. Tom might sound a lot better than usual since he recorded this week instead of myself (Artie)

UPDATED: (File now works) WIN A COPY OF GEARS OF WAR 2!!! Listen to the show for more details, it's explained at the very beginning. However in case you missed the email it's: artie(at)talkxbox(dot)com

TalkGames introduces new writer and co-host Brittany! In this episode we talk about Fallout 3, Gears of war 2, and Dead space. This week's two topics are the idea of a One Console Future. Is it realistic? Will it ever happen? And should it ever happen? After that we discuss the ESRB and ratings in general. Should they change? Do they work? Does it help parents? Do parents NEED help? Find out! Listen in.

Oh, and the show is late because Tom (who works at GameStop) had to do a midnight release of Gears of War 2, so we couldn't record Thursday.

BOO! It's Halloween and TalkGames has a new show out! Have you guys ever watched a really great television show? Something like Heros, Lost, or maybe even Gossip Girl? These are shows that you love watching, and enjoy all the characters etc. But every now and then there's that one episode that's so awful, you just imagine why the show was so bad. Maybe the writer was on crack, the producer was on vacation, or maybe the cosmos just had it that way because it was meant to be that way. That's sort of what this October 31st episode was. It wasn't very good, but no one knows why. I've done everyone a favor and cut out 20-30 minutes to shorten the pain. Tune in next week and we should be more exciting.

Technical Note: Tom's microphone was having some trouble in the first five minutes of the show, these are fixed early on. If you really can't sit through it, just skip 10 minutes in. Back to regular shownotes:

Alright I lied, it's another big show, but with actual content! Zero tangents! The show gets a makeover in an attempt to shorten show length. First we talk about Max Payne the movie and what a terrible abomination it was, and then we move on to what we've been playing. After a quick wrap up about Dead Space, Saints Row 2 and Far Cry 2 the bulk of the segment is spent on Fable 2, a game all three of us have been playing a lot. After that instead of talking about news we're now going to pick major topics and discuss them. This week we tackle the LittleBigPlanet and the Qur'an controversy, and have a discussion on the freedoms the industry has. Finally we end the show with our second topic about E3 and it's constant changing appearance. Should there be public access? Does E3 need to stay alive? How much should you pay for an E3 ticket? Find out and listen to this week's show!

Exclusive: Fallout 3 Interview

Pete Hines from Bethesda took some time out of his busy schedule to speak to us about Fallout 3, coming out October 28th. Check it out! I'll have to apologize for the any occasions in which Pete's mic cut out momentarily, I think you can still understand what he's saying, and it doesn't happen that often anyway, so it's no big deal.

Last really long podcast I swear, we're going to try to shoot for 45 minutes for now on, and I'm having some audio hiccups so I sound kind of echo-ie the entire time. Quick plug, since I forgot to mention at the beginning of the show, we may be interviewing Pete Hines from Bethesda next week regarding the upcoming release of Fallout 3. I've decided to try something out and ask the listeners to send in questions they want answered. If you want to write a question send it to artie(at)talkxbox(dot)com. If the question is any good I may give it to him, if it's ultra specific or ridiculous, I won't, and of course if he doesn't want to answer any of them, he won't. We'll see how this goes, trying to get some listener involvement.

As for the show, we talk about a boat load of topics. Dead Space, Saints Row 2, and Age of Booty came out, so the three of us give our impressions on those games. After a quick break we discuss the state of PC gaming and whether or not expecting a game to play at the highest settings on any computer is a fair expectation. Along with that is a quick debate on Japanese Game Development, the NextXbox being forward compatible, and video game movies continue to be terrible. A lot was covered in this TalkGames, hopefully you listen to all of it, and again I swear this is the last long show. And the last super long description.

Holy crap how did the show get to be this long? That's the question I was asking myself while editing everything. It's actually a super double show. The first twenty minutes is an interview with Andrew Green from EA Redwoods, he was nice enough to talk about Dead Space with me before the game came out. After the interview is the regular schtick, with a new cast member: Doug Buffone! We talk about Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Brother's In Arms: Hell's Highway, WW2 shooters in general, Castle Crashers, Halo MMOs, Sony Video store, limited edition packages and why they suck, and much MUCH more. As you can probably tell this is the longest TalkGames yet, but it's FILLED with interesting contest, give it a listen you won't regret it.

The "holy crap games came out" show. James catches up on Braid due to a recommendation from Soulja Boy, and plays some Star Wars Force Unleashed. Artie likes Rock Band 2, and will probably like Crysis Warhead but Spore is eh. And Leeroy actually played not one game, but two! NHL 2009, and Warhammer online. After the games we talk about the lamest news stories ever. Tom wasn't here this week, tragically.

It's the calm before a massive catalog of games come out, which means... not much is going on. Square Enix tries to buy Tecmo but they say "nah." Ninja Blade and Fable 2 are two games that are going to blow our minds, Castle Crashers is being patched, and 7-11 could start selling games like Grand Theft Auto for the Wii. Leeroy couldn't make it this show, but we still got Tom and James to TalkGames.

Rock Band 2, GTA4, and Alone in the Dark downloads are supposed to be awesome, unlike a certain five pokemon. We also talked about a bunch of other crap, find out for yourself and listen in.

Sims 3 gets a release date, Too Human (The New Star Wars) was released, we got a few tid bits about Company of Heroes expansions and Diablo 3 classes, and finally decide who would win in a fight Samus Aran or Master Chief.

First we talk about the latest in video game news including BLizzard's new mysterious project, Sony's Online service going head to head with Xbox Live, God of War 3 and marvel games and their lack of narrative. After the news we talk about the idea of a one-console future and the importance of Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo in this console generation. Finally we end the show with a twenty minute talk about Metal Gear Solid 4. It's a stuffed show with plenty of content.

We also announced that you can now email TalkGames! artie@talkgames.com is the address if you have any questions or comments for us, send us an email and it might appear on the show.

Artie and guest Tom Bowen (From the "How Not To Play Hitman" series of videos up all over the web) talk about... something... while Brendon is away. We probably talked about Shane Kim's new promotion, otaku obessions, and something else news related. This episode was super crazy and was pretty much an hour of Tom telling us crazy GameStop stories. Not very informative, but hopefully very entertaining.
