Slow news day means time to post YouTube videos of overly-enthusiastic video game fans. Such as this young man Kevin, who apparently is very excited for Gears of War 3. He shows off his excitement within four minutes and twelve seconds of unadulterated enjoyment of doing his best “FRAG OUT” impression whilst playing with Gears of War action figures. It’s certainly a treat to watch:

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH So much E3 madness it can’t be contained in a singular podcast, it has to be split between eight co-hosts and three parts! Listen to the extravaganza that is E3 as we go over the press conferences, make fun of Konami, and finally go over every game that I (Artie) saw at the show. XCOM! DEUS EX! THE 3DS! So many other things. Here are the shortened show notes with no timestamps because I never have enough time to figure them all our for this four hour madness:

Cliff Bleszinski has recently admitted that in some scenarios, Gears of War 2 ‘played itself.’ Responding to criticisms about the game, Cliffy publicly appreciated complaints of the game ‘finishing itself for you.’ Bleszinski has announced regret for these sections, and is embarrassed that it took so long to realise it.

A few years ago I was taking an English class when the teacher derailed the conversation from what we were talking about onto marketing and how to turn negatives into positives. Specifically he recalled speaking to a studio executive who was in charge of Alexander’s PR and said one of the key decisions was to say the film was “Epic. Not Long.” That’s where today’s podcast gets its name. I’m not saying its length is a negative, but this might be a good episode to save for a plane flight or road trip. We cover a lot of ground, and have some interesting discussions and debate. Check out the detailed show notes:

Every second is like a snowflake.  No two counts are alike.  Poetic sentence fragments aside, earlier this week we posted a story about Gears of War 3 and that how it would be set dramatically in the open seas of Sera.  But it appears that the details of the game, as reported by the Russian gaming source – right on the Epic forums – had things a little bit twisted.  Dude Huge aka Cliff Blezinski, gave Kotaku the low-down on what exactly will be officially going on in Gears of War 3.

A Russian gaming mag has broken some of the plot details of Epic Games Gears of War 3.  If you’re the type of person that doesn’t want to ruin your gaming experience with spoilers, then you should probably stop reading right now.  For everyone else who is super interested in the news, keep on reading.

As you should all know it has been confirmed that Cliff Bleszinski, the well-known name associated with Epic Studios and all things Gears of War, will be on The Late Show to discuss the next game Epic is working on. Unfortunately Cliff’s appearance has been delayed in favor of getting Justin Bieber on the show (terrible, I kn0w). However he’ll still be appearing sometime next week, which means there’s already been some rumors swimming around about what Cliff could be announcing.

Its been a while since we heard anything out from Epic. Gears of War 2 was released late 2008 which means it’ll be close to two years since its release this coming season. So far we’ve heard nothing from the famed developer, but that might change tomorrow night. According to Jimmy Fallon’s Twitter Page, Cliff Bleszinski will be showing up on the show to talk about his new game.

There are a few possibilities for what could be announced or talked about on the Late Night, and it might not necessarily be the Gears of War 3 announcement that everyone is predicting. Click the jump for more information.
