Following on from the fairly successful map unlock experiment that had players of Battlefield 1943 trying to gain a number of kills to unlock a free multiplayer map; DICE have created a challenge for the Battlefield: Bad Company 2, this time revolving around ‘team actions.’ And now, we have the results.
Coinciding with the release of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam, DICE challenged it’s players, offering a free map, named ‘Operation Hastings,’ to the players after at least 69,000,000 team actions had been achieved. These included kill assists, healing one another, ammo drops, and repairing other players’ vehicles.
As you can see from the image, the PC came out on top soon after the challenge was released, with the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 dragging vastly behind. However, even though both consoles are yet to live up to the challenge, Dice have taken pity, and have unlocked the maps for everyone.
The Xbox 360 came up trumps on Sony, yet player count could be a heavy factor to influence these statistics, especially considering Steam had a BBFC2 sale over the Christmas holidays.
