Gears of War 3 Trailer Revealed

After a lot of teasing and rumors relating to this big reveal, Gears of War 3 Trailer has finally hit the web. With Cliff Bleszinski’s appearance on The Late Show he brought a wonderful little trailer about Epic Games’ upcoming 3rd installment to the Gears of War franchise. You don’t care what I think though, so watch the trailer itself:

The trailer shows off two interesting facts. The first being a look at the tentacle Locust that a source had previously hinted at. If that one part of the list of rumors is true, its likely the other few bullet points are also true. The other revealing part of this trailer is… a girl? Is that Anya? Someone’s wife? Who knows? Not much was said about the trailer other than its contents, so we’ll have to stay tune for E3 later this year and hope something more is announced.

Good to see they’re sticking with the depressing music and awesome action mix of trailers though. Anyone else excited for Gears of War 3 like me?

This got my attention. If this trailer represents even a section of the game, then it might have some more moody moments (namely in regards to the characters). Gear 2 significantly improved upon the mediocre at-best story and character elements from the first game, so hopefully this is a sign that the quality will continue to rise. Though, other than the new beast (Locust-Imulsion hybrid?) we don't get much indication of the gameplay. Still, looking forward to it.

The Lambent were revealed towards the end of Gears 2. But they were just glowing Locust, now I guess they've become far more elaborate.

Yeah, but I'm wondering if that tentacled beast is really a hybrid of the two or if it's some completely new type of enemy.
