Videogames are in the media once again. And as you might have guessed it has to do with someone breaking the law unfortunately. Nathan Hartley, a legal adult of 18 years of age from Maryland, decided to drive his car and hit a group of pedestrians. One thing led to another and Hartley ended up in court being tried as an adult. His lawyer in an attempt to get the case moved from the adult sector and turned into a juvenile case, decided to use GTA as a scapegoat for his clients actions. What’s even more ridiculous, is the fact that he decided to make up a fairy tale GTA gameplay mechanic called ‘door-checking’ aka the art of hitting pedestrians with cars.

Luckily the prosecutor on the case, had enough sense to call b.s. and Hartley was found guilty of his stupid and reckless crime, which got him a seven years of cold hard jail time.
