Plantronics Halo 2 Headset

If you own a copy of Halo, or even just an Xbox, then chances are you’re impatiently waiting for Halo 2. Other companies are trying to find a ways to take advantage of the hype surrounding the game. Plantronics, the world's leading designer and manufacturer of lightweight communications headsets, has done just that. Not only has Plantronics been able to tap into the Halo 2 buzz, but it was able to produce a top of the line a piece of hardware that any Xbox Live gamer would benefit from.Xbox Live support is the biggest change for Halo 2. You and fifteen other people will be able to go head to head with a large number of maps and gametypes. Every sane person knows that Halo 2 is going to own the online service for years. If you’re going to be engrossed by Xbox Live for long periods of time, a high quality headset will be needed to optimize your Halo 2 online experience. That’s where Plantronics Halo 2 Special Edition Headset comes in.
I have been using the standard headset since the Xbox Live Beta days. It’s a decent headset, but I’ve gone through two of them. The clip that attaches itself onto the headset is very thin plastic, and easily breakable. When you compare the build quality of the standard headset to Plantronics Halo 2 Headset, there is no comparison. The only way to snap/break this headset would be to do so intentionally. The clear green plastic used is rather thick when you factor its overall size, which is rather small. The flexible arm, which retracts up and down, in edition to the rotating ear piece, is perfect for either side of your head. There is a down side with the mechanics of this headset though. It’s somewhat tricky to get on your head, because of the way it sits on your ear. It takes some time getting used to, but after slipping it on a few times, it becomes less troublesome. Once you have it on though, the headset performs flawlessly. The changeable earpiece will fit perfectly in your ear depending on which attachment you choose. Plantronics engineers found a way to make the sound coming through the earpiece sound just like the person is sitting right next to you. Gamers with noisy households will appreciate the Plantronics noise-canceling microphone. Everyone I talked with it on Xbox Live weren't able to hear my 5.1 DD speaker system blazing all around me.

Plantronics did something special when it created the Special Edition Halo 2 Headset. They captured a sexy, high-tech look similar to the style of Master Chief’s green MJOLNIR armor. It is visually and mechanically superior to Xbox Live specific headset currently out on the market. Is it worth the $50 price tag? If you are content with the current headset you are using right now, then you should pass. But if you are a new Xbox Live user, a hardcore Halo fan, or are in the market for a new headset, then look no further because there is nothing better.
