Lasr Accessories Xbox Backpack

Ever since I was a kid it absolutely drove me nuts when I’d see someone just carelessly toss their brand new console into an old backpack and carry it over to a friends. I could just imagine all the controllers and various accessories bouncing around and banging into each other and the console getting all nicked and scratched up. Because of this, when I got my first console I tried all sorts of things to try to keep it pristine even while traveling. I’ve packed consoles in Styrofoam peanuts, bubble wrap, towels, and all sorts of other stuff just to drive across town. I figured someone else out there must be as obsessive about this issue as I am so I did some research and came across Lasr Accessories. A quick browse through their website revealed that not only does Lasr have a complete line of bags for all current consoles, you can play the system right out of the bag!Lasr’s Xbox backpack is the largest backpack I’ve ever owned. It has to be to hold the might of the super large Xbox and it’s gargantuan accessories. On the outside the backpack looks like an ordinary bag. Other than the Lasr logo and the green trim, there’s no way to know an Xbox is inside. I’m impressed with this design decision because it makes the bag a bit less conspicuous. I’d hate to be walking around with a big “Steal Me!” (I mean “Xbox”) logo on my back pack. Another detail I like about the outside of the case is the rubberized corners on the bottom. It’s a nice touch that prevents wear on the bag and increases it’s lifespan. Also, There are two pockets on the outside for storing things like extra controllers, games, cell phone, etc.
Opening up the bag takes a few steps. The Xbox bag has flaps on the side that you unzip and Velcro to the back of the bag when you open it. These reveal mesh vents on either side of the bag that assist in reducing the heat the Xbox generates. The flap on the bottom opens up to let you route the power, video and ethernet cables out of the bottom of the bag to their proper destinations. Then the entire front of the bag unzips and lifts up to reveal the interior. The Xbox itself is placed in a protective shell inside the bag that gives it clearance from the bottom of the bag so you can store the cables. This also gives the Xbox a bit of shock absorption should you drop the bag. I wouldn’t go throwing the bag around, but it is a good design idea. In front of the Xbox there is room for two controllers to be stored. And to round out the internal storage the inside of the front flap has room for two memory cards and storage for game discs and manuals.
Since I started working 10-hour shifts Monday through Thursday at my day job, I’ve had more time to travel since I get three-day weekends every week. The Lasr Xbox pack has been a great travel companion. There’s nothing better than showing up at a friend’s dorm for a LAN game of Halo and not worrying about how to get the Xbox there. Overall I’ve been extremely pleased with all of Lasr’s console bags and highly recommend them to anyone who wants to game on the road.
