Sega announced that Hiroshi Kataoka has been assumed the president of Sega-AM2. Previously Yu Suzuki is the president of Sega-AM2, he is now organizing two new in-house development studios for Sega.

Sega announced that the current nine development studios will be restructured and reduced to five. Two additional development studios will be created.

I don't understand why Sega will merge teams together if they are going to create new ones.

I think these teams will remain their name:

Sonic Team
HitMaker
Sega-AM2
