For those who simply cannot wait for Final Fantasy XIII to make its way to retail regions outside of Japan, there aren't many options.  Especially if you're an Xbox 360 owner.  Sure you could purchase a PS3 (if you don't already own one), import the game when its released in December, and have fun with it.  That's assuming you are fluent in Japanese hirigana and kanji.

Square Enix is giving fans a little something to look forward to, alluding to a possible April 2010 release date for the game for  regions outside of Japan, and more importantly both the Xbox 360 and PS3.  A representative from the company said that the game is making good progress in being translated, and has a good chance of coming out before the end of the fiscal year, which closes in April 2010.

One thing that was not said, was whether or not FF XIII will be available in North America, Europe, or both regions by this date.  So until we get a hardline release date, we'll all just have to wait and see.
