UPDATED: Sky Player Xbox 360 Problems

Well, this is certainly not what Microsoft and Sky hoped for on their Sky Player debut for the Xbox 360. We have received numerous reports from our readers that they are not able to access the service after downloading the Sky Player. We tried it ourselves and received the following error: "Can’t connect to the SKY Player Service. Error codes: 0C01/8009/0304"

We have contacted Microsoft to find out what is wrong with the service and when they expect it to be available. We will report back as soon as we receive a response.

UPDATE: We have heard back from a Microsoft representative: "Sky Player on Xbox 360 is scheduled to launch today. Although the Sky Player service is currently experiencing technical issues across all platforms, we anticipate these issues will be resolved today, in readiness for the Xbox 360 launch."

It looks like it is a problem with Sky's servers. Quite disappointing for the launch day, problems always seem to occur at the worst times!
