Aaron Greenberg Says There Will Not Be A New Xbox 360

This is getting to be a bit ridiculous. Seems the top execs over at Microsoft aren't keeping in communication with each other. Aaron Greenberg spoke with Kotaku after Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmar announced that a new Xbox 360 with Project Natal tech would arrive in 2010, saying a new system was not coming. Yes you read that right. Aaron Greenberg is standing by his original claims stating that a new 360 will not arrive in 2010.

So what exactly was Steve Ballmar talking about then? During the interview Greenberg did his best to rectify the seemingly slight slip up saying, "I really believe he was speaking about Project Natal." When asked if there was the possibility of Project Natal being included with 360's in the future Greenberg towed the company line stating, "Yes, we have looked at that, but we haven't announced any details for something like that."

So there you have it, contrary to what I just wrote a couple hours ago in the article beneath this one, there will be no new Xbox 360 with Project Natal tech.

This may not be a bad thing. With all of the cool things they have planned for the Xbox it would be a shame to spend all that time getting it up and running to simply override it with the next system. I would like to see what the 360/PS3 is capable of before they move on. They made some games for the PS2 and Xbox that were better looking than some early 360 games. Also with job instability right now people may not be looking to plop down $400 for electronic bliss. Besides I would rather not have a rough release with DOA systems and equipment catching fire this time... Either way I am looking forward to see what Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft develop!
