Motion Control Coming To The Xbox 360

Looking to get into the motion control arena, Microsoft has announced Project Natal. No this isn't just a Wiimote control option knock-off, it's something completely different. Project Natal will use object movement and voice recognition to implement its motion control.

Project Natal is aiming to fully integrate players into the gaming environment. If it works as well as the tech demos that were shown during The House of Gates keynotes, they very well may have it wrapped up already. Some examples that were shown were a boy using a real-life skateboard to actually skate digitally; virtual attire dressing by two women; and browsing NXE Minority Report style - using your hands.
Peter Molyneux ran a demo of something called "Milo", which had a woman and small boy interacting together. Milo recognized the females emotions and threw her a pair of goggles which she had to reach out and grab.
One thing is for sure, no matter if you're a fan or hater of motion controls, Project Natal is looking to push things into a whole new spectrum of control and not be a mere copy of what has already been established with Nintendo's Wii. Gotta love the advances brought forth by business competition.
