Bungie has announced what many gamers have been waiting for every since they purchased a copy of Halo 3: ODST and saw the option for the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta. Yes there is a set date for when the beta is going to be available, and its coming on May 3.

Not only is the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta going to be playable, but Bungie creative director Marcus Lehto has said that they are going to some “pretty big risks” introduced as well. Speaking to Joystiq, Lehto stated that the multiplayer offering in the game is going to expand on the experience that was crafted in Halo 3. “While we’ll still have all of the good stuff that players have come to know and love about Halo, we’ve made that better and given them new features on top of that,” he says.

The bad news is he didn’t elaborate on what the features could possibly be, but the good news is they will be on full display once the beta hits on May 3.
