If you like Fallout: New Vegas, you’ll be glad to know what we just received a plethora of screenshots for the game. I was a pretty big fan of Fallout 3, and I have some interest in New Vegas… but man they’re getting really deep with some of this stuff. I’m specifically referring to the several images of guns with tiny alterations made to them. Looks pretty interesting, but don’t take my word for it, see for yourself:

The long awaited Obsidian RPG Alpha Protocol has finally reached the end of production by announcing today that the game has gone gold. For those of you unfamiliar with the term: a game that is “gold” means that development is over and the only thing left to do is for DVD boxes to be made, and DVDs to be pressed. In other words, there won’t be another delay this time. You know what’s a perfect way to celebrate this news? Watching the new vignette dedicated to the main character:

What do you see in this picture? Is it a 60″ Sony Television with a signed copy of Mafia II? Because if that’s what you see you might want to get your eyes checked out. Really what’s pictured is a screenshot from Mafia II’s “Frankie Motts” interactive web game. You’re tasked with discovering information and tid bits about the three mafias in Mafia II, do a good job and you’ll get to see exclusive screenshots, character histories, and in-game information. Do a REALLY GOOD job and you can win some sweet prizes. Check out the official release:

For those of you who were following the first Dead Space, you probably remember the incredible elaborate and thought-out website that preceded the release of the game. Well it would appear that Electronic Arts is following the same trend by launching Dead Space 2’s website well in advance with some content to explore already.

Any owners of Halo 3: ODST wll be happy to know that you can now download the Halo: Reach beta off of Xbox Live RIGHT NOW! My download is currently at 6% and running at an extremely slow pace, so I’m going to assume a lot of people have been waiting for this game to come out. I’m not the biggest Halo fan in the world (I’m not even sure if the above image is ODST or Reach) but I can’t wait to get my hands on the beta.

Fallout: New Vegas will be available later this year, and as with any high profile game in a successful franchise, details are rolling out slowly.  If you haven’t been keeping pace with all news concerning Fallout: New Vegas, will let TX get you up to speed.  For starters the game is being developed by Obsidian Entertainment, instead of Bethseda Softworks.  That’s not the only significant change in store for the follow-up to Fallout 3.  The game will place you in the role of courier who gets a bullet to the dome while trying to deliver some info and thus will begin you adventure.

Don’t know what TalkGames is? Check out our Description page.

TalkGames goes early 90s this week by bringing back the terminology of “ERR.” Once we establish how cool kids talk we go on to discuss Monster Hunter Tri, Nier, Split/Second, Bungie’s Activision Plan, and what Call of Duty: Black Ops could be about. Here are the show notes:

Sent to us yesterday, the debut trailer for the new Call of Duty game is looking mighty fine. Any question as to whether it’s set during the Cold War or not seems to be answered. Personally, I was hoping for a Call of Duty game where you don’t have to kill Russians (imagine!), but then again, I was also hoping for a Call of Duty game not made by Treyarch. Ah, a man can dream.

According to the Bungie blog post, the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta will be released around “late morning” PDT. We’re assuming “late morning” refers to around 11:00am pdt, which would translation across to the following times:

Like…whoa! If you’ve already pre-ordered the game at another retailer, I suggest revoking it and instead pre-ordering the game from Amazon. Pre-order the game for $59.99 at Amazon and get a $20 Amazon gift card for free! Madness, I tells ya’!

In keeping with their promise of more DLC for Mass Effect 2, Bioware has news regarding more coming next week. From their official website: “Other than Collectors abducting colonists? Well, we got tons of awesome updates for you!” Read the full announcement after the jump.

Before you ask, no this is not the official image for the game. Before you question further, yes I do have MSPaint. Anyway, Call of Duty: Black Ops was announced today via press released by Activision. The release mentions that the reveal trailer will be airing on GameTrailers TV “this friday” (I think they mean today). For those wondering, this is the Treyarch game that they’re referring to. You can read the entire press release below:

Today Disney Interactive released a video vignette showing off Split/Second’s “Survival” mode. This mode is based off of having more to worry about the elements that may destroy your car rather than trying to beat the other players you’re racing against. If you want a more eloquent explanation presented by one of the guys who worked on the game, you should probably watch the video below.

Fans of the Dead Space franchise will be happy to know that Electronic Arts just released the “reveal” trailer of Dead Space 2 today. Currently we’ve only got a YouTube embed (which you can see below) but we’re working on getting our own upload as well. If you like inkblots, scary images, and ominous sounding quotes you’ll enjoy this trailer:

Defying all logic, Bungie has announced that they have partnered with Activision, crafting a deal that will allow Bungie to to retain all of their intellectual property rights, but will bring their new games to “multiple platforms and devices”. The deal will last for 10 years. This new partnership doesn’t mean that Bungie is now owned by Activision, but that Activision has been given publishing rights to at least one of Bungie’s new IPs. Any information on those new IPs have yet to be released.

According to the official press release, “Under the terms of the agreement, Activision will have exclusive, worldwide rights to publish and distribute all future Bungie games based on the new intellectual property on multiple platforms and devices. Bungie remains an independent company and will continue to own their intellectual property.”
